Highly experienced both in global education and global business, their singular focus is on enabling learners, educators, and school leaders to meet their personal and professional goals.
Born and raised in Ningbo, China, Liam Gan spent a decade in the United States pursuing his education and professional career. During that time, he earned dual bachelor’s degrees from the University of California, Berkeley, followed by a master’s degree from Columbia University. He later returned to his hometown with a passion for giving back to the local community through education.
Over the past several years, Liam has taught a wide range of advanced mathematics courses, including AP Precalculus, AP Calculus AB/BC, AP Statistics, and Linear Algebra. He served as Head of the Mathematics Department during the 2022-23 school year and was appointed Academic Dean in August 2023. Since February 2025, Liam has served as the Head of School at Barstow Ningbo, where he provides strategic leadership for the school’s academic programs, faculty development, and overall school operations.
Liam is dedicated to building a school community where academic excellence, innovation, and character development empower every student to reach their fullest potential.
