{"id":1846,"date":"2017-10-04T19:50:55","date_gmt":"2017-10-04T19:50:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kleducation.org\/?p=1846"},"modified":"2018-01-05T19:56:50","modified_gmt":"2018-01-05T19:56:50","slug":"shunde-elementary-starts-english-radio-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cambridgenetwork.cn\/cambridge-international-en\/2017\/10\/shunde-elementary-starts-english-radio-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Shunde Elementary Starts English Radio Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In an effort to give our students more fun and interesting opportunities to speak English, perform, share, and be creative, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cambridgenetwork.cn\/cambridge-international-en\/schools\/\">KL School<\/a>\u00a0SMS Shunde Elementary launched its first ever English radio program, called Voice of Kids (VOK).<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Broadcasting throughout the school every Tuesday and Thursday, the program features students reading aloud from their favorite stories, and singing their favorite songs.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-1847\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cambridgenetwork.cn\/cambridge-international-en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Shunde-Students-Reading-1024x835.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"835\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cambridgenetwork.cn\/cambridge-international-en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Shunde-Students-Reading-1024x835.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.cambridgenetwork.cn\/cambridge-international-en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Shunde-Students-Reading-300x245.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.cambridgenetwork.cn\/cambridge-international-en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Shunde-Students-Reading-768x626.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.cambridgenetwork.cn\/cambridge-international-en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Shunde-Students-Reading.jpg 1136w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The first episode of the program featured two of our 2<sup>nd<\/sup> graders, reading from the beloved classic\u00a0<em>Three Little Pigs.<\/em>\u00a0\u201cOne, two, three. Three little pigs. Three funny little pigs\u2026\u2026\u201d While they kept to the original story cues, they didn&#8217;t hesitate to add their imagination and new ideas to the story.\u00a0Episode 2 featured 3<sup>rd<\/sup> grade students reading from\u00a0<em>Pete the Cat<\/em>, a New York Times best-selling story about a cat who keeps getting his white shoes dirty, but who never loses his cool. \u00a0&#8220;I love my white shoes&#8230;I love my white shoes&#8230;&#8221; Students around the school fell in love with this positive black cat thanks to our students&#8217; vivid presentation of the story.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-1848\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cambridgenetwork.cn\/cambridge-international-en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Shinde-Microphone-1024x774.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"774\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cambridgenetwork.cn\/cambridge-international-en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Shinde-Microphone-1024x774.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.cambridgenetwork.cn\/cambridge-international-en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Shinde-Microphone-300x227.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.cambridgenetwork.cn\/cambridge-international-en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Shinde-Microphone-768x581.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.cambridgenetwork.cn\/cambridge-international-en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Shinde-Microphone.jpg 1234w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In addition to reading English stories, our students prepared several English songs for their listeners, including\u00a0<em>The Season Song<\/em>, <em>Rainbow Song<\/em>, <em>Do-Re-Mi<\/em>, and\u00a0<em>Yankee Doodle.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-1851\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cambridgenetwork.cn\/cambridge-international-en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Group-Shunde-1024x805.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"805\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cambridgenetwork.cn\/cambridge-international-en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Group-Shunde-1024x805.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.cambridgenetwork.cn\/cambridge-international-en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Group-Shunde-300x236.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.cambridgenetwork.cn\/cambridge-international-en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Group-Shunde-768x604.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.cambridgenetwork.cn\/cambridge-international-en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Group-Shunde.jpg 1137w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We look forward to making Voice of Kids a positive experience for our students, one that fosters creativity, encourages growth, and leaves some unforgettable memories.<\/p>\n<p>Want to join our inspiring community of educators teaching on our global campuses?
